Somedays I have to admit it’s hard to get up and get dressed. I wear a lot of athletic-type gear especially in the colder months because my work schedule is a bit slower. Actually putting together an outfit can be a bit daunting unless I have to meet with a client or other outing requiring me to not look like I’m going to the gym 🙂 In the summer however, I tend to like clothing and fashion a bit more just because I don’t need SOOO many warm layers. Wisconsin summers can be a mix of temperatures producing anything from 60’s to upper 90’s making it feel like a bit of a roller coaster when it comes to the clothing/weather department. I don’t love spending a ton on clothes but I do need to look professional, in-style and somewhat trendy for my job. I also don’t mind owning a pretty thing here and there so figuring out a few seasonal go-to outfits are key for my wardrobe survival and budget. I love Old Navy, who doesn’t??? Those super sales are the best. They really know how to reel me in…I picked up 2 new items this season that I’ve gotten a lot of use out of. I just love graphic patterns, especially stripes so when I saw that blue striped dress for only $15 I was sold. I bought it early on in my pregnancy, but knew if I purchased it one size larger I would get more use out of it in the long run. I could wear it most of the summer and after the baby comes and potentially next summer as a swim cover-up if it was too big. So that purchase was a no-brainer for me! I don’t see it online anymore so it might be sold out by now, but Old Navy has tons of great stupid or graphic pattern dresses that would work well in this outfit combo. Here’s a great example of a blue striped dress.
The second item I purchased was the green military jacket. I had been wanting a coat with this type of styling so when I saw Old Navy had one, I snatched it up quick! It really is versatile and lightweight, the perfect summer jacket on those chilly nights! The flip flops are Old Navy as well and super comfy! The necklace and bag are purchases I received through my Stitch Fix membership. Have you heard of them?? Such a fun service, I love the monthly boxes of goodies!
Anyway, I love that gold necklace, I wear it almost every day, it pretty much goes with everything.
How are you pulling together your summer looks??
