Decorating is really something I love to do. I don’t have a big budget to work with like most of us, still I love to have a well groomed home. I live and work out of our little cape cod cottage so it has to feel inspiring to me on a daily basis. I’m always looking to improve things around here, there are always projects to work on, something to paint or of course organize. About a year ago I decided we really needed a makeover in our living room, we spend so much time in this room of our house that it really needed to be special. So over the last year I’ve been painting, re-arranging and collecting things to spruce up the place. It’s still a work in progress, but I love how it’s coming along! I have a small drop down table in the basement I picked up at an antique store that I would love to incorporate somehow in this space. We don’t have a formal dining space so I’d like to try and create one that can double as additional kid play space. Anyway, here are some images of our everyday home.
Table is a clearance find from Walmart, several years ago. Lamp, blanket, picture frame all from Target. Blue pillow is pottery barn clearance. Plant and EKTORP sofa Ikea. Green pillow Etsy.
Rug is new from the Target Threshold line. Chair is Nolan Club Target. White end table is thrifted. Ottoman is Ikea. Curtains are made from natural dropcloths I purchased at Home Depot. Super cheap! Striped throw is Ikea. Square picture frames are from Target.
White TV stand is from Ikea as well.
Lamp is Home Goods.
Mirror is from Home Goods, Boxwood wreath is from Target, dresser is vintage re-purposed from LilyField Furniture. Color is Annie Sloan French Linen. I haven’t decided yet if I’m hanging the mirror or not. I think we need a bigger mirror. Thoughts?
Thanks for taking a tour of my living room!
